Tim will present a stand-alone session and participate in the “Trends in Cinema” panel discussion. From his perspectives as an exhibitor, distributor and festival curator, he will share observations and strategies for how to better connect with cinema goers and understand what they want; build student audiences; make a candy bar funky; and find ways to optimise the movie-going experience.

Adapted from the incredible true story “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierley, LION comes from the Academy-Award® winning producers of The King's Speech (Emile Sherman and Iain Canning, See-Saw Films), with Aquarius Films' producer Angie Fielder (Wish You Were Here), in association with Sunstar Entertainment, and is directed by Garth Davis (Top of the Lake) from a screenplay by Luke Davies (Candy, Life).

Five-year-old Saroo finds himself alone and travelling on the wrong train away from his home in northern India. Frightened and bewildered, he winds up thousands of kilometres away, in chaotic Kolkata. Somehow he survives living on the streets, dodging all sorts of terrors in the process.   • On Arrival:  Please ensure you register at the Convention Office in the Broadbeach Room, The Pavilion Convention Centre, Jupiters Gold Coast where you will be issued with the final agenda, name badge and breakfast vouchers.
  • Registration name badges: MUST be worn and visible at all times.  YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE VARIOUS FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES WITHOUT YOUR NAME BADGE.  You will be asked to present your name badge to AIMC personnel to scan and check validity for various functions.
  • Convention activities: All convention activities will run at the published times so please arrive early.
  • Breakfast vouchers: Please ensure you have received breakfast vouchers for all the days you are registered for the convention.  These are only valid for redemption at Jupiters Gold Coast's Garden Kitchen & Bar (a la carte menu, juice, coffee & pastries - limited seating between 6:30-8:00am) OR Food Fantasy (buffet) and cannot be exchanged for in-room dining or cash.
  • Mobile phones & recording equipment:  No recording equipment will be allowed into the cinema for any screenings. AXIS security will provide low light surveillance of the cinema to immediately identify any breaches of use of recording equipment.
  • $10million plus - AIMC Box Office Achievement Awards:   The AIMC Highest Grossing Box Office Awards for 2015/2016 will be presented throughout the Convention.
  • Candy Bar: Open 30 mins prior to all distributor product presentations and/or guest speaker presentations in Jupiters Theatre. The Candy Bar offers light refreshments including all your favourite products from COCA-COLA, BULLA and MALTESERS®.
  • Delegate Network Bar - AIMC offers an exclusive late night bar in the Garden Bar (adjacent to Garden Kitchen & Bar) for delegates to meet and mingle and enjoy a drink in this relaxed atmosphere.
